After opening the window as far as it will go, turning the air conditioner back on high, and condescending to open the door partway, I have managed to lower the temperature in here. Jen next door, who lived here last year, said she had to have her air on all winter, because the radiators lie about being turned off, and all the heat from the rooms on the two floors below us filter up. Goody. This is my third year en dorm, and I have yet to get a room with any kind of climate control. Freshman year I had the choice of burning or freezing; last year we never figured out how to make the heat come on and had to rely on the kindness of the dryer vent below our window; now they want to BAKE me. I am NOT a cookie.

I am debating whether or not to put in an appearance at the Homecoming barbecue thing outside tonight. Not that they are at all likely to have food I can eat, but I might be able to sneak some Coke. I don't know if I'm that much of a caffeine whore or not.

Homecoming is next Saturday. I am afraid. I have, so far, never had to be here for Homecoming. My parents were here then my first year and kept me off campus all day. Last year, I was away. I am MOST afraid because they are playing KU, and they have this insane rivalry and bloodlust thing going.

The parade just damn well better not come close enough to here to wake me up. I have noooo school spirit. I am not a community person.

I seem not to be doing anything productive again. Sailordub is on in about forty minutes. I don't know why I torment myself with that.

My penguin snowglobe fell off the desk and broke. My mommyyyy gave me thaaat. I think it came from Hallmark, though, and every Hallmark in the country carries the exact same mostly nauseating merchandise, so there's a good chance the one in the mall here will have a replacement.

I woke up with a sore throat and was worried, but it has gone away. I'd BETTER not get sick now.

There is a long, long list of things for me to do this weekend sitting on the other desk. Whyyy am I being a little lump girl. It is supposed to be partly cloudy through Tuesday. According to weatherplanner, it's going to be evil rainy after that, but I am hoping they lie. It is only allowed to rain from seven to eleven at night. Before that, I may need to be outside; after that, I may need to sleep. Rain makes BANG BANG BANG noises on my air conditioner.

I am going to pick up my psych book, I am going to open it, and I am going to read chapter three. You may put Skittles in my bellybutton if I don't.
